since when I bought my phone, I try updating my google chrome browser and it's not updating. why is it so?

I'm facing the same problem, over a year ago now, both Android webview and Chrome remain pending at the point of update for so long

select auto Upgrade and both android web view and chrome will update...have to reboot once

Ensure your storage space is not frustrating your efforts. Also, try clearing cache of your PlayStore app and Google Services before making another attempt.

Clear cache and data of Play Store and Chrome, restart your device and try again
