Google Security Patch update for Camon 15 is now available for download. The update addresses security concerns having to do with Mediatek Components. And a few other complaints of users of our beloved brand in enhancing optimum performance of the true night king, award winner, and Guinness World Record Holder, the Camon 15.
Addressed issues having to do with security vulnerabilities on Android targeting Mediatek Components as assessed by MediaTek are detailed below showing the CVE (Common Vulnerability & Exposure) I.D, Android bug I.D, severity, and affected components respectively.
Kernel access vulnerability classed as EoP (Elevation of Privilege) addressed on the October 5th update prevents access of a local attacker using a specially crafted file to execute arbitrary code within the context of privileged process.
The “Hide Apps” option which was initially removed on HiOS feature on the Camon 15 is returned and can be accessed by long-pressing on an empty space of your home screen>desktop settings>hide apps. Click on the “+” button to select from the pool of apps available on your device (e.g Drive). Click the “back” button to exit/confirm your choice.
To unhide an app, repeat same process above, but this time untick the previously selected app. Click the back button to exit/confirm your choice.
Wallpaper preview has also been included to gesture settings. To access, long-press on an empty space on your home screen>desktop settings>gesture settings>and select your preferred shortcut option for wallpaper preview.
If you’ve received the notification for update but yet to do so and need help with it, go to settings on your device>system>system update>online update>continue>resume>use cellular data or connect to wifi.
After the download process is complete, scroll to the bottom of the same page to click on restart now. Please note that you must have your battery above 50% to complete the process.
Your device will temporarily go off to return with the HIOS animation update installation progress.
On completion, your device will automatically turn on itself to finish the Android update set up. Once done, you’ll get a congratulatory message of a successful process.
