Are online courses better than physical courses?|
In the writings of two educational scholars, Arthur W. Chickering and Stephen C. Ehrmann, they wrote; "Students do not learn much just sitting in classes listening to teachers, memorizing prepackaged assignments, and spitting out answers. They must talk about what they are learning, write reflectively about it, relate it to past experiences, and apply it to their daily lives. They must make what they learn part of themselves." Online courses, which is far better than physical courses, is the best tool for learning.
The world has become digitalised where many apps have been created for teaching and learning. Examples are Zoom, Google Classroom, Telegram, Duolingo, TED-Ed, etc. One advantage of online courses to physical courses is that learners can learn at their own pace, the courses can be recorded or saved using digital tools.
Also, it's pertinent to note that bad roads and traffic stress the learner. Online courses helps the learner learn at his own convenience, saves the learner from stress.
Furthermore, the COVID-19 pandemic was an eye opener. Many institutions were ramping up their online course offerings amidst the global pandemic which benefited the student; they had more autonomy over their learning.
Online courses are more accessible for many students; those who work full-time, who have family obligations, and/or who live far from the college.
In conclusion, online courses are better than physical courses because they are more convenient for learners. There is flexibility of classes and less expenses when studying online compared to physical classes.
