Hi T-Fans,
With Android 10's navigation gesture being integrated on new Tecno devices and newer version of HiOS generally, opening the side menus of some apps like Google Play Store, Gmail, Photos etc could be a very hard task as an inward swipe on either side of the screen triggers the back action.  This could be a bad news especially if you like swiping to get into the side menus. However, here are a couple of ways to get into the side menus with navigation gesture on.

• Opening side menus with 'peeking'
This is the first way to open the side menus. A long-press on the side of the display in which the side menu reside for at least a second should trigger the peeking behavior. The menu will slightly show up and give you the opportunity to slide out without making the back action. This could be tricky at first but you would soon get it as soon as you continue to use it.

• Opening side menus with an angle swipe
As opposed to the first method, this method lets you open the side menu without any form of long-pressing, all you have to do is just swipe on the side of the screen in which the menu reside at a 45° angle. A 45° angle swipe on any app with side menu will open the menu without making the back action. You'll also need a constant practice to get adapted to this new normal as you may end up making the back action if you're not doing it right.

• Opening side menus with two fingers.
As I've said earlier, the two methods requires just a finger, but this method requires you to use two fingers. To perform this, kindly tap and hold on any open space on the app you need to open the side menu and use your second finger to in the side menu. The picture below would explain better. However, I'd recommend you use the second method as it's fast and easier to use compared to the other two. And, if probably you don't want to use any of the above method, you can always tap on the three dots menu to open side menu menus of any app.

That brings us to the end of the tutorial. Do share with us your experience using Android 10 in the comments section and feel free to ask questions if you have any. Thank you.
